Low Cost Subscription Tier

About

This was an academic project that I created for my Product and Project Management class.  I worked in a team of 4 and selected a product or a feature that we wanted to implement using Agile methodologies over the three months of class. The team created various MVPs and, after a thorough SWOT analysis, identified the Low-Cost Subscription Tier as the most viable option. Throughout four sprints, team members rotated roles as Product Owner, Product Manager, Project Manager, and Scrum Master, providing a comprehensive experience in diverse responsibilities, accountability, and teamwork skills development.

MVP: Low Cost Tier Subscription

Amazon Prime currently bundles Prime and Prime Video at $14.99 per month or $139 annually. Recognizing regional preferences, a new low-cost tier offers Prime Video alone at $9.99 per month or $79.99 annually. This allows customers in countries with alternative e-commerce choices to access Prime Video without the higher bundled cost. The strategy aims to attract more users specifically interested in Prime Video services in regions where Amazon is not the primary e-commerce retailer.

Team Meeting

PRODUCT IMPLEMENTATION

Prepared a detailed report on the chosen Minimum Viable Product and prepared an Amazon-style Press Release consisting of public and internal FAQs

Determined EPICs for our MVP and built out User Stories with acceptance criteria for each of EPICs individually. Conducted story maturation sessions with the team to gain feedback on user stories and to allot poker points (product backlog).

Built out a work breakdown structure for the diffferent EPICs. Determined the positive and negative risks for our product, created an impact matrix and a change request form.

Conducted a detailed Customer, Business and Technology SWOT Analysis and competitor analysis for Prime Video

Prepared a Project Charter to clearly establish project objective, scope, tentative schedule, size estimation, budget allocation, target customers, benefits, risk and mitiagtion and build vs buy.

Built out a 1-4-8-12 month roadmap and sequencing tasks (Gantt chart) for product implementation. Prioritized product backlog and broke it down into semi-equal sprints.
